Green public activist was killed in Dnipropetrovsk

Our colleague, Volodymyr Goncharenko, a well-known green public activist was killed in Dnipropetrovsk (Ukraine).


Volodymyr was a wonderful man, our colleague and friend. We collaborated with him for 15 years in professional and public areas. He was the chairman of the Green NGO “For the citizens` rights to environmental safety.”

We have no doubt that the murder was linked to his professional activities!

At his last press conference (July 27, 2012) Volodymyr announced the information about 180 tons of chemical and radioactive contaminated scrap metal, which came to the city of Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk area) without control of local authorities and police.

Four days later he was brutally beaten and died in the hospital.
